Gill Figg a fine watercolour artist, at work in her studio at home, in Cwmrhydyceirw.

Gill Figg studied painting and stained glass in Swansea College of Art in the early sixties. She spent her career in art education, teaching in all sectors, from Early Years to Higher Education. In 1980, she won the NSEAD/ Berol Bursary for research into art education and, later, was the only Welsh representative on the National Curriculum Art Working Party, under the chairmanship of Lord Colin Renfrew. Latterly, she became an Independent Inspector of Art. Since retiring, she is attending to her own art education, long neglected. She works in a range of paint media and soft pastels, her subject matter being the local Welsh landscape and abandoned chapels
