Owain Sparnon

Owain Sparnon, artist of Neath, winner of the Glynn Vivian Gallery Open, Friends Prize, (top). One of two of his paintings that were accepted.

Through paint, collage and digital media, I create work in response to things that I come across on a daily basis. These can include photographs, landscapes, reflective lighting, sounds, shapes and forms of everyday objects. I’m intrigued by the idea of layering, intertwining, and decontextualising an image and the boundary between painting and sculpture. my paintings reveal recollections, thoughts, secrets and experiences of my subconscious through colour, remnants, texture and the unknown.
